Program Case Study – University of South Carolina

In the fall of 2009, the University of South Carolina partnered with JMH Consulting to identify and launch a series of non-credit certificate programs. At that time, USC offered a handful of personal enrichment non-credit programs as well as Test Prep.  Over a 5 year engagement, JMH and USC launched:

  • Paralegal Certificate – online and in-class
  • Project Management Certificate – in-class
  • Grant Writing Certificate – in-class
  • Six Sigma Certificate – online and in-class

These programs attract participants from Boeing, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Fort Jackson. They added almost $750,000 in annual revenue to the department’s budget.

In the winter of 2015, the contract with JMH came to its expected conclusion and USC began managing the programs. However, they retained JMH to provide marketing services for the certificates. This is a great example of JMH serving as a launch partner and helping universities quickly expand their offerings.
